I'm currently on my dial up computer, but I promise to watch it tomorrow! I haven't seen enough Firefly vids out there.

Also, can you really upload videos to YouSendIt.com? Because I'm seriously lacking web space...

I would be really thankful if you would. I downloaded the vid to my computer and it plays great but on my mother's computer it is very choppy. I'm hoping it's just because her computer is old and slow-'cause it is.

You can upload videos, or even zip files, to YouSendIt but they only stay there for 7 days or a limited number of downloads, whichever comes first. I think that the larger the file the fewer downloads you get.

I absolutely LOVE it, girl... I didn't have any trouble downloading this time, and it runs smoothly. :D

Oh good. I was so worried that it wouldn't play for anybody! And I'm really glad that you like it. I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out but I'm chalking this up to beginner's luck!

Hi there. I just watched this and wanted to leave some feedback for you, I hope this is an ok place to do it.

I really liked what you were doing here, and I thought you chose a lot of good moments showing how Mal really does seem to have a guardian angel watching over him (I think the scene from 'Serenity' where the guy next to him gets shot is especially telling - it's at that moment that Mal gives up on his faith, and yet it's when he's most protected).

The scenes from Out of Gas were also excellent, very poignant. I noticed you used all elements of physical danger, instead of emotional (like when Kaylee is injured). I also love your slowing down of the War Stories clip at 1:08; dragging that scream out like that makes it especially painful. You also do a great job with fades and cross-fades.

I was, however, confused about what you were 'saying' with the vid - I thought starting out it was going to be a Mal and his guardian angels video, and then it seemed to bounce back and forth between that and Mal and Serenity as his guardian angel. I guess those aren't mutually exclusive ideas, but for me at least, I spent a lot of time trying to peg it as one or the other. I can be anal that way. ;)

I thought it was good, thanks for sharing it!

My basic storyboard was this: Mal loses faith; gets beat down(shot, tortured); finds the will to survive; fights back; and finally with Serenity as his savior, is content.

My original plan with the last shot from "Out Of Gas" was to try and make it look more like a flashback scene. With the effects on WMM I couldn't get anything that I liked so I settled for Easing In.

Thank you for taking the time to watch it. And I especially thank you for the feedback. Everything I did with this was just experimenting with WMM and I honestly did not think I would come out of this with a half-way presentable vid.

Very nice! I like this a lot...the opening half is especially strong.

I hope you keep making vids because this is a great start!

Thank you! I'm going to try making more vids. I wasn't really happy with my source because it kept stopping(kinda of skipping frames), so I tried making it look like an effect. But overall I was really happy with how it turned out.

Well, WMM kinda sucks. It's actually not too bad for a free program but...

I've done two vids with it myself, neither of which is as good as yours. I don't think I have the right editing instinct for good vid making...but I love watching them!

I don't know much about making vids, like wdwolfpup, so I don't have much advice to give, but I will tell you that I love yours. Also, I love that song, and I think it fits really well with Firefly's story. I found a link to it from jade_kadir's Great Firefly Fanvid Archive, so you can thank him for the advertising.

Cheers,
Julia

Thanks. When I heard that song I thought it sounded like a Firefly song. I felt like Serenity is what saved Mal after the war and facilitated the need for the crew that became his family. Thank you for commenting, I'm glad that you liked it!

I've been attempting to work my way through [livejournal.com profile] jade_kadir's list. It's really nice to be able to download new vids without having to search all over.

Wow - this is so wonderful. I just started RPing Mal at [livejournal.com profile] the_worm_hole and would love to include that on his bio page. Would you mind if I uploaded it to my server? You can use the link I create instead of Angelfire too if you like.

I...have no words. You can certainly upload it to your server and I can't describe just how appreciative I would be for your hosting. If you want anything in return or ever need anything graphics related, I'm all over it. Thank you!

Dammit - YaHell where I host my sites won't let me upload it. But I do have a friend with servers of his own that I will ask. We'll work this out. Just might take a few days (or weeks).

I found a link to this from Google via another LJ.
This has to be the most beautiful creation I've ever beheld. I'm not remotely Christian but I have always liked this song, and when I saw the header I thought "that fits perfectly with the show's soundtrack style."
I own a Firefly/Serenity guild on the boards at GaiaOnline.com and I'm going to make sure everyone sees this. Awesome piece of work.

I found this through a Serenity video search and this is definitely the best i've seen!!! Perfect song choice for Mal. Thank you for making it. :)

Loved this one.
The song is very endemic to Mal as a character and a particularially good choice for him.

I have only come to love Firefly recently. I only caught a few episodes, maybe one or two when it was actually on. I have come to love it for the stories. This was a good telling of Mal's tale.

Other videos I'd like to see using Firefly as a theme are Kansas' "Icarus" (Borne on Wings of Steel) which I have come to see as an alternate to the Firefly theme song, and Indigo Girls' "Strange Fire." Just a couple of Ideas and I have no way of making them happen, so see if you can do these.
